More and more small business owners have begun to acknowledge that website is a powerful and influential medium that can help boost their sales and brand reputation. And they are exploring it like never before.

As a result I have more people contacting me for SEO for small business websites. Webmasters  approach SEOs'  at various stages. Some sites may have been up for years and some sites may be new, not even indexed by spiders yet. Objective of all these webmasters however is the same. Once I am through with the above task of basic assessment of a website, I get back to the client and ask them to send me the ten best keywords that they think their potential clients are most likely to type to find them. I put these keywords and phrases through several tests using online tools and my own experience to know their actual impact on SE. Based on client’s input and my study I identify the most suitable set of primary and secondary key-phrases for client’s SEO campaign. Being able to find the most frequently used phrases which contain your product related keyword is the objective of my campaign.

The process of research is tedious and time consuming. Besides that, it calls for undivided attention and dedication on the part of an SEO expert besides analytical skills, SE and market awareness. While identifying key-phrases I may not necessarily stress upon the most competitive keywords. On the contrary I put in a lot of effort to search for less and medium competitive keywords. Page Optimization is about the keywords being used in the content of the web pages in a certain manner, whereas content development includes article submissions, forum and blog postings, and publishing press releasing.

After completing the content optimization and development aspect comes Text Based Navigation. To make the most of the spider visit we fine-tune navigation of website. We achieve this by giving right placement and prominence to keywords on a web page. The navigation system facilitates spiders journey from home page to inside pages and if the spider can find anchor text optimized to their liking then top-notch rankings could be just a day away.
